When it comes to choosing a college, a campus visit is the best way to help you pick the right fit. Whether you’ve registered for a campus tour, will be attending one of our or are just starting to plan out your college visits, we’ve got a few tips to help enhance your experience at Dean:

Know before you go: Prepare for your campus visit even before you’ve left the house. Take a look at the campus map so you’ll know where to go and where you’ll park: follow the directions and signs for the Campus Center parking lot (#25 on the map). And make sure you’ve followed all health and safety protocols, both before you arrive and while you’re on campus. Details are provided when you register for a campus visit.

Ask questions: You’ll have a chance to talk to tour guides, current students, and faculty and staff, so now’s the time to speak up. Ask current students questions about the overall experience at Dean, like what their favorite course or professor is, how easy it is to get involved in campus organizations or find internships, what students do for fun, or why they chose Dean. Even if it means stepping outside your comfort zone, asking questions and talking to students is a great way to find out firsthand what it’s like to be a Bulldog.

Take notes: Write down the answers to your questions and any other important info that your tour guides mention. Beyond the facts, it might also help to write down your overall feelings and impressions as you explore campus for the first time. Ask yourself: Can I picture myself here? When it comes time to make your decision, these notes will help you remember what your experience was like.

Explore the area: Your college experience goes beyond campus, so while you’re here, get a feel for what it’s like to live in Franklin, MA. Dean is located in the heart of downtown Franklin, with plenty of shops, restaurants and activities to take advantage of just steps outside your front door. Explore the outdoors at throughout Franklin, or head over to Gillette Stadium or the Wrentham Outlets, both just 15 minutes away. Even take a trip out to the city: you can be in downtown Boston, MA in just under an hour by car or train, while Providence, RI is about a 35-minute drive.

Have some fun: College visits should be just as fun as they are informative. For some road trip tunes on your way to campus, listen to (WGAO 88.3 FM), Dean’s radio station, or our put together by the radio station and Admissions staff. Once you’ve arrived, take pictures of campus, relax on the lawn and stop by the campus bookstore to grab some Bulldog gear.

Can’t make it to campus? No problem! Take a , join one of our live online sessions or watch the recordings, and don’t hesitate to reach out to the Office of Admissions with any questions you might have.
