Dean Leadership Institute was proud to welcome alumnus Eric D. Lee, Esq. ’08 as the first Leadership in Action speaker of the spring semester. Lee graduated from Dean in 2008 and was captain of the football team that earned the first outright NJCAA Northeast Conference championship. He went on to the University of Maine and then returned to Dean as assistant football coach. Lee earned his MBA from Centenary University, and then went to Seton Hall University where he earned his law degree. He is currently an associate in the litigation practice group at Florio Perrucci Steinhardt Cappelli Tipton & Taylor after serving as Assistant Prosecutor at the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office in New Jersey.

Lee spoke about his experiences of being an athlete and a lawyer. He advised students about the three P's: Preparation, Presentation and Performance. “It takes time to build a genuine relationship. It’s not only creating a LinkedIn profile, liking posts and that’s it. Take the time to connect virtually but get to know those connections. Every time you connect with someone, think about what the purpose is. You have to develop that relationship,” said Lee.

Thank you for sharing your wisdom and experience with our students, Eric Lee! For more information about past and future speakers, visit Dean Leadership Institute.
