Dean Spotlight: Pom Team
Here at ¶¶ÒõÆƽâ°æ there’s an organization for any interest! Today we are spotlighting the ¶¶ÒõÆƽâ°æ Pom Team. If you are interested in dance and performing, this group is for you! We spoke to Team President Emma '20 to learn more about this student-run team.
The ¶¶ÒõÆƽâ°æ Pom Team practices once a week, where student executive board members teach the group choreography that will be used at games, competitions and campus events. Be sure to check them out at Homecoming on September 28th!
Traditionally the team competes twice a year. In November they participate in a Cheer & Dance Competition at the Reggie Lewis Track Center in Boston, where they hold a three-year streak as Grand Champion of the entire competition. In February they compete at Regionals with two dances – one pom and one jazz style. Last year they took home second place!
FUN FACT: Steven Sonntag '19, one of the first male members of the New England Patriots cheerleading squad, founded the ¶¶ÒõÆƽâ°æ Pom Team his freshman year at Dean!
Stop by the Student Involvement Fair on September 10 from 4-6 p.m. in the Campus Center Atrium to learn how to get involved with Pom and other student activities at Dean!
