Favorite Memory Friday: Q&A With Mackenzie Fillion
Every week, we’re showcasing our graduating students as they prepare to say goodbye to Dean. On each #FavoriteMemoryFriday or #TransformationTuesday, you’ll get a before and after look at where they started vs. where they are now. Next up is Mackenzie Fillion, a Biology major and Psychology minor.
Q: How has your experience at Dean shaped you?
My journey at Dean has been instrumental in my personal development by enhancing skills in several key areas including leadership, time management, accountability, conflict resolution, and serving as a role model for underclassmen. I have had the privilege of being highly involved on campus by playing for the Women's Field Hockey and Lacrosse teams, as well as guiding my peers through my roles of Peer Mentor and Peer Tutor. Overall, my college experience has been transformative, preparing me with essential skills that are valuable for personal and professional growth.
Q: What is your favorite memory from your time at Dean?
My favorite memory from my time at Dean was my field hockey senior day. It was a beautiful day to celebrate the accomplishments of the seniors and I got to spend it playing with my friends and seeing my family. I also got my first career shutout during this game, so it was very special that I got to experience it on this day and with this team.
Q: How has Dean prepared you for the future?
Dean has equipped me for the future by installing not just career-related skills, but also invaluable life skills within me. Additionally, it has facilitated connections that have steered me in the right direction and will undoubtedly support me as I continue my journey beyond Dean.
